The wall is 225mm thick with 100mm flint on one side, and 100mm face bricks on the other side.

The Lychgate was built into a curved wall, which stretches a 1/4 mile around the entire property.

Building a brick and flint wall round such a curve is very difficult.

This wall is built off of 600mm x 600mm x 1m deep pads at 3m centres with a reinforced ring beam running across the top. This was constructed in this way to avoid damaging the tree roots.
